This lot on Penman is carpool only for the 2 preseason games and will allow single drivers for all regular season games.
This lot will be operated on a 1st come, 1st served basis. When all spots are filled, remaining volunteers will be turned away and you will have to find alternate parking at your cost.
There are a limited number of spaces available in the Penman Street lots – approximately 1000 for over 2000 game day volunteers and employees. The Panthers provide these spaces at their cost – one of only 2 NFL franchises that do this. So try to work with these folks.
You do not need a parking pass; simply tell the attendant you are working with SF&B and they will give you access. Tailgating is not allowed in this lot.
Once parked, shuttle buses will be available to take you to the check-in area of the Stadium. You are also free to walk to the Stadium.
Please plan on arriving at the parking lot at least 20-25 minutes before your scheduled check-in time to allow for shuttle queue and transport time – OR – for the 15 minutes walk. Also add a time allowance for a queue of cars at Penman Street, as there is limited access for vehicles coming from the several directions volunteers use.... all traffic funnels to Mint Street….
We will offer bus pooling from CCHS again this year.
We will provide 1 large school bus, driven by a MACS driver. It is expected this bus will accommodate 50 passengers.
The bus will leave CCHS 4 hours before game time. For Sunday 1PM games, this is 9AM. This allows 30 minutes transit time to the stadium, and 30 minutes for volunteers to check-in and arrive to the station by 10AM – or 1 hour before we have to be ready to sell (when gates open at 11AM). Our typical volunteer crew will run as large as 67-75 people per event. We will need several parents who are willing/able to provide carpool vehicles for our potential overflow crowd. We need for you to meet at CCHS, too. Please advise Jenny Linich if you can assist with this duty.
The bus will drop its riders at the check-in area upon arrival.
To Reach the Penman Street Lot :
From I-77 South:
Exit I-77 South at the Morehead Street Exit.
Turn LEFT onto Morehead Street for the exit ramp.
Turn RIGHT at the 2nd stoplight onto Mint Street.
Turn RIGHT onto Penman Street and proceed to end of the street; look for the SF&B banner and the lot attendant who will tell you where to park.
From I-77 North or I-277 North :
Proceed from I-77 North onto I-277 North.
Exit I-277 North at the FIRST exit for East Carson Street.
At the FIRST LIGHT turn RIGHT onto Mint Street.
Turn RIGHT onto Penman Street and proceed to end of the street; look for the SF&B banner and the lot attendant who will tell you where to park.
From I-277 South :
Exit I-277 South at the Stonewall Street Exit.
Turn LEFT onto Stonewall Street from the exit ramp.
At the FOURTH LIGHT turn LEFT onto Tryon Street.
At the NEXT LIGHT turn RIGHT onto Morehead Street.
At the 2nd stoplight, turn left onto Mint Street.
Turn RIGHT onto Penman Street and proceed to end of the street; look for the SF&B banner and the lot attendant who will tell you where to park.
From South Charlotte :
Take Providence Road toward downtown.
Remain on Providence Road as it turns into Queens Road.
Remain on Queens Road as it turns into Morehead Street.
Stay on Morehead Street until you reach Mint Street.
Turn LEFT onto Mint Street.
Turn RIGHT onto Penman Street and proceed to end of the street; look for the SF&B banner and the lot attendant who will tell you where to park.
