2008-2009 PANTHER FUNDRAISER GUIDELINES

DEFINITIONS :

¨       Eligible Student - A student at least 15 years old on game day.  This age is set by the Panthers/SF&B work rules.  A student who turns 15 during the season is eligible for the remaining games.

¨       Under-Age Student - A student 14 years old or younger on game day.

¨       Caps - Limits placed on credit accumulation allowed for benefit of a student.

¨       Extended Family - Parents, step-parents, legal guardians and siblings of all CCHS Band Students.

INCENTIVES :

Immediate recognition:

¨       Each Hawker who meets or exceeds stretch goals of the product they are selling, based on individual game sales, is eligible for a payout of $20.

¨       Top performers in each product group will be assigned their product of choice for the next game they work.

End-of-season recognition:

¨       Stretch goals: Hawkers who meet or exceed stretch goals are eligible for the year-end raffle at the Band Banquet.  Stretch raffle target is $450 from tip buckets. There will be 3 prize drawings of $150 each. One chance per Hawker for every game they exceed the stretch goal.

¨       Floor goals: Hawkers who meet or exceed floor goals are eligible for the year-end raffle at the Band Banquet.  Floor raffle target is $300 from tip buckets. There will be 3 prize drawings of $100 each. One chance per Hawker for every game they exceed the floor goal.

CREDIT ACCUMULATION RULES :

¨       Each student will receive a credit for him/herself PLUS those credits earned for their benefit by Extended Family members.  One credit is earned for each person who works a game.

¨       No Caps are placed on credit accumulation for either Extended Family members (for the benefit of either Eligible or Under-Age Students), or for Eligible Students.

MINIMUM PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS (number of games worked):

¨   2 games for all Eligible Students; PLUS,
¨   2 games per family for parents. This can be calculated as 2 parents for 1 game or 1 parent for 2 separate games.  This requirement applies to parents of eligible and under-age students.
¨   If the above minimum requirement is met, the 2nd installment of the Band activity fee will be waived.

¨  An under-age student has no minimum participation requirement.  The 2 games per family for parents will fulfill the minimum participation requirement needed to earn the wavier of the 2nd installment of the Band activity fee.  PLEASE NOTE:  A student who turns 15 during the season becomes eligible from that day forward and must meet the minimum participation requirements to earn the waiver.  If only one game is scheduled (including post season) after the student becomes eligible, working that one game will fulfill the student’s obligation.

¨  Extended Family members are expected to be active and suitable participants for the jobs available in the Concession Stand (15 years of age, or older, properly dressed*, physically capable) in order to earn credits.  Project Lead will have authority to determine whether the “active and suitable” requirements are met based on assignments available in the stand.

¨   Minimum participation to be eligible for consideration for financial aid support on trip expenses is 7 games for each Eligible Student and 7 games for the parents of  the student(s).

MINIMUM AGE RULES AND REQUIRED FORMS OF ID/DOCUMENTATION

¨  NC State labor laws require all volunteers working at BOA Stadium to be 15 years old or older. To enforce compliance, SF&B   employees will validate the age of all volunteers via any of the following 3 methods:

1) Bring a government issued photo ID, Driver’s License or Learner’s Permit to BOA on each game day, to be presented upon request at Panther game check-in desk.

2) Bring a birth certificate or passport to Band Boosters for verification.  This information will be notarized and kept on file at Bank of America Stadium.

3) Take your student’s birth certificate or passport to Bank of America Stadium for them to verify and keep on file.  This option is only available by making an appointment with the Panthers.

¨   If your child is unable to prove they are fifteen (15) or older they may be turned away at the Panthers’ Check-In table and will not receive credit for  the game.  In addition you will be called to pick up your child at the stadium.

CREDIT ALLOCATION PROCEDURES:

¨       The SF&B Commission plus any group bonuses paid on food and beverage sales is the revenue stream utilized for allocation to student accounts.

¨       The commission is allocated 50% to Student Accounts and 50% to the Booster General Fund.

¨       Allocation of monies will be made from the total season pool of monies earned by the Fundraiser.

¨       The amount available to allocate is:

o        Gross commission/bonus MINUS any payments to supporting organizations (chorus, etc.) = Net commission.

¨       The Value of Credit Earned is:

o        Net Commissions multiplied by .5 (50% of commissions to students accounts) divided by the number of total credits earned by the entire Band.

¨       Total student credits is equal to:

o        Total of games worked by student plus games worked by extended family.

¨       The total amount of money earned by each student is equal to the total amount of games worked by each student multiplied by the Value of Credits Earned.

The Value of each Credit Earned by a student is:

Value of each Credit Earned =

Gross Commission/Bonus

(-) Payments

(x) 0.5

(÷) Total # of Credits Earned.

The Student Total Credit to each individual student’s account is:

Student Total Credit =

Value of Credit Earned

(x) Total number of credits earned by Student.

¨       All tips MINUS the incentive pools to encourage energetic participation and high sales (see INCENTIVES above) are to be assigned to the Booster General Fund.  In addition, the Project Leads are authorized to allocate tip money as they deem appropriate to participants when the tip supports, promotes or rewards behavior that is beneficial to the CCHS Band and the Panther Fundraising effort.
