Committee Roles

BAND WEAR COORDINATOR

The Coordinator orders and maintains the inventory of Band Shirts, Sweatshirts, and other “Marching Cougars” logo items and is responsible for sales and delivery. The coordinator should also be available to attend functions such as the end of the year reception, 8th grade parent meeting, Band Camp Family Mass, etc. to take orders for items.


MARCHING UNIFORM COMMITTEE

Volunteers oversee activities associated with gloves, hats and accessories and help the chairperson supervise the students in correctly storing their uniforms. Committee members will help with the uniforms before and after every football game, both home and away, as well as competitions and parades. The chairperson directs all activities associated with the marching uniforms and accessories. This includes fitting all students, coordinating uniform cleaning, making any alterations that need to be made, band locker checks, and coordinating volunteers.


CONCERT ATTIRE COMMITTEE

The Coordinator is responsible for fitting concert dresses, ordering, collecting money, and distribution of the dresses. This includes ordering sample dresses for sizing. The coordinator will also distribute tuxedo information for the boys and oversee sales of used attire at the end of the year.


STADIUM HANDS

Volunteers help clean the bleachers before and after each home game and fill water coolers. The committee chair is responsible for coordinating volunteers, and maintaining an inventory of cups, trash bags, and paper towels.


COLOR GUARD COORDINATOR

This person works with the Color Guard Director and members of the Color Guard. The coordinator also communicates information and schedules to the parents.


PIT CREW

Volunteers help move the pit equipment and director’s podium onto the field at all football games – both home and away as well as any competitions. The chairperson coordinates volunteers and is responsible for coordinating the rental of an equipment truck for all away football games, competitions and trips and supervising the student equipment crew as they load equipment.


BAND NURSE

Provides nursing supervising for all Band activities including Band Camp and the Spring Trip. Maintains the medial emergency packs for the Band. Must be a registered nurse and a MACS employee.


DOUGHNUT SALES

Volunteers are needed from 6:45am to 8:00am to set up tables, sales, cash collections and clean up. The chairperson will coordinate the doughnut pick up from Krispy Kreme at 6:00am, volunteers, supplies, and advertising. This fundraiser is held once per quarter.


COMMUNITY COUPON BOOKS

Volunteers help sort and distribute books to the students and to collect money. The chairperson will contact the vendor, order and take delivery of the books and coordinate activities. This fundraiser takes place in Jan – Feb.


BLANKET SALES

Volunteers are needed to help sell blankets at home football games. The chairperson orders and maintains the inventory of blankets, provides fliers to CCHS, HTCMS, St. Mark, and St. Anne to advertise the blankets for Christmas and graduation and is responsible for delivery. Chairperson should also be available to attend functions such as the end of year reception, 8th grade parent meeting, Freshman registration night, Band Camp Family Mass, etc.


PANTHER CONCESSIONS MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE

This committee manages all activities related to the Carolina Panther Concessions. Committee members are responsible for Panther contact and communication, recruiting and coordinating game volunteers, money management, transportation and credit allocations.


WACHOVIA GOLF TOURNAMENT

Volunteers will work a 6 hour shift selling concessions at the tournament. Committee Chair will schedule volunteers and be in contact with the tournament planers.


CONCERTS AND AWARDS BANQUET

Volunteers plan and set up decorations for the Christmas and Spring Concerts. They also are responsible for decorations, set up (including Booster funded food and equipment) and clean up for the Awards Banquet in the spring. Chairperson will coordinate volunteers for all activities including programs for all concerts.


WEBSITE COORDINATOR

This person is responsible for design, management, and updating the Band Website (http://www.marchingcougars.org)


NOMINATING COMMITTEE

Volunteers will secure nominations and prepare a complete slate of candidates for the election of Board Officers. Chairperson will coordinate all activities.


BAND PHOTOGRAPHER

Volunteers are responsible for taking pictures of the Band at all events to be used on the website, for presentations and for general use by the Band Director. Photos can be hard copy or electronic.


PUBLIC RELATIONS COORDINATOR

This person is responsible for writing and submitting articles promoting and advertising the activities and accomplishments of the Band and its members. Publications include the Catholic Herald, the CCHS newsletter, MACS newsletter, CCHS website, etc. All articles must be approved by the Band Director.


PANTHERS TRANSPORTATION

This person is responsible for coordinating the bus transportation to and from the Panthers Stadium.
